Cable Size Recommendation for Pumps

A voltage drop chart for cables is used to determine how much voltage is lost due to resistance as electricity travels through a wire. This is particularly important for long cable runs to ensure that the voltage at the load end is sufficient for the equipment to function properly.

Max volt drop allowed is 2.5% which is 6v at 230v e.g. 1.1kW single phase motor on 150m of cable will need 10mm cable, the maximum run on 10mm is 190m.
